Death - Makes me Pray

I was absent to the blogging world for quite sometimes because I don't really know what to write, somehow I find a lot of things in my head but none of them made it to the final thing to write. There is one thing though that I have been thinking for the last week. It all started when I learned that my first cousin just died.

I started to realize that it is indeed true that death is the greatest equalizer, no one can avoid it. It made me think if ever I will die tomorrow am I ready? I don't really think I am, I not ready to leave my son at a very young age, have not reach nor started to achieve my dream yet.  Most of all I don't think I am spiritually ready.

Since I have been thinking of death since that time, I started to do something I haven't done in a very long time. Praying! it is true that we sometimes call our creator when we needed him, I am guilty of that. I really wanted him to watch over me and my family.

while writing this i look at my son who is sleeping so peacefully, I started to think what will happen to him when I am gone, sure there are a lot of family who can take care of him but I pray to God not to get me now, to give me a long life to see what will he become. I am still afraid of death though..

Sigh! there is something good though when I think about death, it makes me think about God and it makes me closer to him. I dont pray before but now I do... I guess it's also one way of God reminding me of him.

lets us all pray for every one :)

  1. I think many of us are guilty about only remembering God when we need something. It is nice to get these reminders when we don't need something so we can connect with Him out of simple love, respect, and thanks for the blessings in our lives. Thanks for the reminder!

  2. I don't think many of us are ready to die, nor do we think we will die soon.
When my Mother died, I couldn't believe how life just went on. Everyone around me was doing their everyday things and I was devastated.

  4. I think the thought of death when we have children is terrifying. I also worry about what I am going to be leaving behind. It is important to leave a legacy with our children and to teach them to love and value themselves. Faith is really the only thing you can have there is no guarantee in life.

  5. Thank you for the reminder. I am certainly guilty of not praying until I need something. I had a small crisis last week and it reminded me I need to be thankful for all the blessings I have and not take them for granted.

  7. Experiencing a death of a family member or close friend is always a life changer. No question about it. Connecting to God helps us get through it and to stay connected to our loved one that we lost. Prayers and hugs to you.

  8. I am not really sure what to say to this post. Death is a hard thing to deal with, not matter who passed or how old you or they are. All I know is that life happens and we must adjust and accept it. I hope you feel better soon

  15. We are all going to die, it's just a matter of when, so like the saying goes, "live your life like it's your last day on earth."

  18. The greatest fear of any parent is to leave a young child behind. Come to think of it, we may not be really ready for death but prayer will make us stringer and calmer.

  19. Praying erases doubts on our hearts. It also makes us more relaxed and clear headed. Just keep on praying, not because you think God will give you all you need but because you know He will do what is best for you. :)

  20. Death is something that we all must be prepared for especially in the spiritual aspect, preparing ourselves and our loved ones in how to deal with it as we all will sooner or later face it.

  21. We don't know the specific date when, where, what time we're going to die, that's why everyday we wake up in the morning, we should be thankful to God for giving us another day, another life to live.

  23. We never know when we're gonna die so it is best to live our life to the fullest by following His will and spreading the love all over; when we die, we'll leave a good example here, and get rewarded up there. =)

  24. Death is a possibility for anyone, young or old, rich or poor, it will surely come. We must be ready for it by doing good things and offering to GOD whatever we have or we do at this world.

  25. God has unique way to catch his children attention. All must die, correct but God has plan for each one of us. I must suggest that you seek what's god plan for your life. And believe me it is the best!

  28. Morbid, but I think of death too.
Just last week, a friend of mine died so suddenly
he was only 21, and it was just a month after his BDay.
Everyone is grieving for the loss, more so that he is soo young with a very vibrant personality.
I was yet again reminded around the time when a college friend of mine commited suicide.
Truely death lurks in the corner because we live.. and that's just how it is. We can never say we are ready as it takes on any time and age.
The best question that we have to ask ourselves is how well have we lived our lives at this point. :)

  29. I have read this book by John Green entitled The Fault in Our Stars. What I learned in that book is that, all of us will die. We can never be ready, yes, but we should not worry about it that much. What matters is that we're still here and we still can do great things. Condolence po.
